Cool Features In Mozilla Mailnews

Junk Mail Filtering

Mozilla can analyse incoming mail, and determine if it is junk or not. Unlike some filters, it is not based on a fixed list of rules. The filter can learn to recognise new messages as long as you correct it.

Message Labels

You can give messages coloured labels, allowing you to easily categorise and see the messages you want to get back to. Filters can also be used to set labels.

Multiple Accounts

If you're still struggling with Netscape 4's restrictions on accounts, Mozilla can access multiple accounts in the same profile.

Get Map

If you have stored somebody's postal address along with their e-mail address, you can get a map for that address.

Quicksearch

Quicksearch lets you perform basic searches very easily. There is an input box at the top of the list of messages, and search terms entered match subject or sender - which covers most searches.

LDAP Autocomplete

If you have a LDAP address book on your network, it can be used to autocomplete addresses. As you type the message in, a list of possible matches appears, allowing you to quickly select the correct one.

Message Views

Message views are like predefined searches - allowing you to perform common tasks quickly. For example, you can choose to look at all the messages with attachments, only the most recent attachments, or messages with a certain label. If you don't like the default views, you can create and edit your own.

S/MIME

Mozilla can send and recieve messages in the S/MIME format.

You've missed off cool feature X! Feature Y doesn't work like you said!

Use the "contact" link on the left to pester me. Also remember that not all features are in all versions. This is supposed to be up-to-date, so only complain if it doesn't work in the latest stable release.
